How To
What do I do first?
Start with an energy reading of your environment. While not required, it is the best first step. The consultation is free and done remotely. Fill out the contact form, making sure to include the street address of the location where the mandala will be used. An accurate street address is more important for the reading than even your name because it’s the location I’m reading, not the individuals in it. Any information you provide will only be used for energy reading purposes. I will then do a remote energy reading on the location and email you the recommendations.
All energy is connected, and by tuning into a location, I can get a sense of the quality of the energy. This lets me know what kind of energy dominates your location and what is most needed to cleanse the energy and balance the flow.
Then, I will let you know which mandalas and music are best suited to your location. I generally give three mandala options to choose from, explaining the purpose of each to your location. However, there are times when only one or two mandalas fit the location. You are then free to choose from there, either ordering directly from the site or by email and receiving an invoice. If other recommendations are needed to support the energy work of the mandala, those steps will be included in the results. These can include decluttering, cleaning, adding plants, among other things.
If I don’t already have a mandala that is suitable for your location, I can make a mandala that is suitable. However, it will take longer for me to make a custom designed mandala.
I create every mandala by hand per order, and I will make adjustments to it to fit the location. Each mandala is handmade and adjustments are made to suit the location; therefore, expect slight variations from the original designs pictured on the site. I will keep you posted as to the progress on your mandala and let you know when it ships.
How do I use the Mandala?
The mandala comes with everything you need to hang it on the wall. The mandalas are displayed similar to a Japanese calligraphy scroll, with a rod at the top for support and hanging and a rod at the bottom for weight and balance. They will be shipped rolled, like a scroll, but any curl can be easily flattened gently by hand or allowed to hang out over a few days.
It is preferable to hang the mandala on a wall located close to the center of the house so that the energy from it flows from the center out. Do the best you can with this.
Next, leave empty space around the mandala. Whatever the width of the mandala is, leave a minimum of equal empty space on all sides. So, if the mandala is 12 inches (30 cm) wide, leave at least 12 inches (30 cm) free of any other objects on the right, left, top, and bottom.
Finally, do your best to protect the mandala by keeping it up and away from high traffic areas. While the paper it is made from is strong and long-lasting, repeated bumping, touching, or other contact could cause damage. Displaying a mandala behind glass, it is not recommended, as this impedes the energy flow.
How do I use the Music?
After you’ve downloaded the music, start by playing it in the center of the house. Playing the music from the center, disperses it evenly.
If there are areas of the house that seem to feel heavier or have a stale, musty feeling to them, then also play the music in those areas. This could be a basement, a room where someone who has been ill has resided, or a room where intense emotions are expressed. Trust your instincts on where to play the music.
For the first two weeks, play the music at least once a day. You can then either continue playing it once a day or once a week. A good way to remember is to play the music whenever you clean the house.
Whenever there is an argument or other emotionally charged event or social gathering, or whenever you feel the energy needs cleansed, play the music.
Play the music in rooms where houseguests have stayed. This is to clean the energy to freshen the space, just the same as you would clean the sheets and towels.
I also recommend playing the music in hotels or any other places you stay away from home to cleanse the energy for the time your stay.
No need to wait for the mandala to arrive in order to begin playing the music daily in the space. Start playing it right away. When the mandala arrives, you’ll already have a good start at clearing out negative energy patterns.
Q&A
Feng Shui
-
Feng Shui uses universal energy patterns to harmonize people, their property and possessions with the energy in the natural environment. Meaning “wind-water”, Feng Shui recognizes the flow of energy, whether it is fast or slow, weak or strong, and it’s impact on the environment and those in it. By respecting this flow of energy, one can make adjustments to their home, property, and possessions to encourage a balanced, nurturing flow of energy that supports growth and prosperity in all areas of life. When the energy flow is out of balance or disharmonious, growth and prosperity are hard to achieve or maintain.
-
Furniture placement, house design, home orientation are all respected and well-studied aspects of Feng Shui, and I encourage you to consider those aspects of your surroundings. For tips on these aspects, I recommend Anjie Cho’s articles and books. Overall, however, Feng shui is about working with Nature’s energy to promote a creative environment that supports growth. “Growth” comes in many forms: personal, spiritual, familial, financial, and more.
-
Feng Shui will help bring balance into your life. It can help you clear out clutter, release whatever is no longer beneficial to you, and appreciate the elements in your life that are most important to you. By bringing energy into your life that respects the flow of Nature’s energy, your growth comes more easily. By respecting Nature’s energy, we reduce the disharmonious energy we put into our personal environment, and by extension, the natural environment. When we treat the natural environment with respect, we create a harmonious relationship within ourselves.

A lot of people tend to think “I’ve got to see it to believe it.” Yet, we’re all affected by energy every day. When you get creeped out by somebody who just walks by, without saying a word, behaving strangely, or even looking at you, that’s a reaction to their energy. Feeling attracted to someone, some place, or some thing when you can’t explain your attraction with physical reasons, it’s the energy you’re drawn to. Just the phrase “mob mentality” explains when how chaotic energy turns rational people into bullies who vandalize property, only later wondering what came over them.
While working with energy is enigmatic, and seeing can be believing, I recommend this video about Dr. Masaru Emoto’s work. He was able to demonstrate how different qualities of energy impact water molecules. He is not the first scientist to study energy, but his work makes the quality of energy visible and relatable.
In the diagram below, there is a depiction of the difference between positive and negative energy patterns.
Reiki Mandalas
-
A Reiki Mandala is the pairing of two ancient traditions utilizing and respecting the power of Universal Energy to heal and cleanse.
Mandalas have long been used by spiritual traditions around the globe as a sort of visual prayer as well as a way to explore one’s inner nature. Notably, in Shinto and Buddhism, the mandala is used as a tool to communicate with Kami, or Nature Spirits, to welcome and honor all that Nature provides, that which is seen and that which is unseen.
Reiki was originally developed in Japan using touch and symbols to heal using Universal Energy. Reiki, which means “spirit” or “vital force”, is often used in healing physical and emotional disharmony in people, but it is also used to cleanse disharmonious energy in environments, animals, plants, etc.
Together, they Reiki and mandalas create an atmosphere that honors All of Creation and emit an energy that supports natural cycles of life.
-
As a Reiki Master, I use symbols emit spiritual energy to heal and cleanse. Some Reiki practitioners use their hands and symbols to heal people, but it can also be used to heal animals, plants, and environments. My strengths are working with environments and plants, so I use Reiki symbols to cleanse negative energy from environments.
The mandala itself is a symbol of the Universe and everything within it. Working with elemental symbols and patterns, it creates an inaudible type of musical energy that reorganizes disharmonious energy patterns. See the image below the Q&A for a visual representation of what positive and negative energy patterns look like, and you’ll see that the positive energy patterns are rhythmic, smooth, cooperative, and well balanced - the same high quality energy the Reiki mandalas emit into your environment.

It feels good when our living spaces, bodies, and minds are clean and clear. Yet, it is possible that though our living space and bodies are physically clean, the energy coming from them is not. If there is a lot of fighting, chaos, tension, or depression in a space, the objects in the space absorb that energy.
In Japan, vital energy is called Hado and Ki. In China, it is called Chi and Shen Chi (positive energy) or Sha Chi (negative energy). This energy is within and surrounding all of us. Both types of energy have their place in nature and are to be respected. The problem occurs when there is too much and too little of either for too long.
The Reiki Mandalas are designed to keep the energy moving, keeping it fresh and clear, balanced and rhythmic. This type of energy is like going from a musty, dusty, dank room into a warm, sunny morning after a soft rain and taking in a deep breath of fresh air. Revitalizing.

Energy imprints happened. We tend to know little about the prior residents of our homes. If they were going through hard times, such as a divorce, illness, depression, addiction, or other emotionally charged troubles, their energy will leave an imprint. This energy then emits back into the space and into your life. It is often fittingly called residual energy.
This can also happen when you bring antiques or secondhand items into your home. These objects also emit the energy of the prior owner(s), for better or worse. The more the person cared for or used the object, the more their energy is imprinted on it.
A beautiful example of this can be seen on “The Repair Shop.” Families are connected to these items on a deep emotional and spiritual level, as they can sense their deceased loved ones’ energy in their beloved objects and feel closer to their loved ones by repairing and caring for these items.
Unfortunately, not everyone leaves behind a positive energy imprint. This is the energy that needs to be cleared away. Who needs or wants someone else’s troubles causing trouble in their lives? I would guess no one wants that. So, sometimes we have to clean up someone else’s mess, even if it’s energetically, so we can move on with our own lives.
Cleansing Music
-
Music cleanses with vibrations. All energy is vibration. Music is organized vibrations. The steel drum music I play is intended for environmental cleansing. It is simple yet powerful.
Most everyone has experienced the power of music, how it can lift your spirits, move you to tears, make you feel empowered, and bring us together in an almost primal way.
Music can be creative and destructive. To best illustrate the difference, look to Dr. Masaru Emoto’s work with the effects of emotions, words, prayers, and music on water. Here we see that what we think, feel, say, and do impacts our environment. We can then use that information to purposely improve our environment.
I have created music with the intention to create a harmonious, bright and clean environment. The music then reorganizes disharmonious energy patterns into smooth, harmonious, balanced rhythm patterns. Played regularly, the effect is like energetic housekeeping. In fact, I recommend playing it each time the house is cleaned.
-
Of course you can! And there are many musicians who create beautiful music with wonderful energy. Join me on X (@harmonicmm), as I will be sharing some of my favorite musicians and music, and you can share some of yours, too.
That said, the Reiki music I create is purposely intended for creating energy patterns that are harmonious, clean and bright in objects and environments. This makes it unique from mainstream entertainment music.
-
Unfortunately, there is a lot of music that promotes violence, hatred, and other destructive actions and thoughts, all while being delivered with a catchy beat.
Each of us has a unique energetic makeup. We each have preferences that fit our elemental nature. A Water person will likely prefer calming instrumental music, where a Fire person is enlivened by an upbeat tempo that makes them want to dance.
Like the five elements of nature - water, fire, earth, wind, and metal - the music that best nourishes us is different depending on our natural energy.
That said, I do suggest considering what kind of musical energy you are absorbing and whether or not it’s the kind of energy you want in your life. How does the music you listen to make you feel? Do you listen to it because you love the way you feel when listening or because it’s popular, or does it make you feel exhausted? If you feel refreshed while listening to it and after, then you are putting out better energy into your environment, as well. Consider these things and then make your music selections from that perspective. You may find it’s time for some Good Vibrations.
-
You can certainly choose one or the other, but they each work in their own way.
The music quickly clears negative energy patterns in a space, making it feel clean and bright, but the effects don’t last as long as the mandalas. Like sweeping the kitchen floor, it only takes one person coming into it to make a mess that needs to be cleaned up again. Still, it’s better to have swept and kept a clean baseline than to leave the messes piling up on each other. Reiki music is like that broom, ready and waiting to be put to work cleaning up the messes.
The mandalas are slower to clear the entire space and create a prevailing pattern, but once that pattern is in place, it remains steady and strong. Like an air purifier, it can take a little time to clean up all the debris in the air, but it takes less effort to maintain the clean air once established.
Together, the music and mandalas work symbiotically clearing out energetic debris in the short- and long-run.

Energy Defined
The Difference Between Positive and Negative Energy
High quality energy is smooth flowing, rhythmic, and balanced. I call this “positive” energy because it is revitalizing, and there is a good balance of give and take. A home with positive energy flowing through it will feel healthier, which means the house is sturdier, needs fewer repairs, feels warm and welcoming, and is easy to enjoy and relax in. In a positive environment, everything in it respects and supports each other. It is creative energy.
Low quality energy is chaotic, either too fast or too slow or with pools of both. It is depleting. Environments like this tend to either have a lot of conflict in them or very little communication at all, resources are hard to come by and/or get used up quickly, home repairs are frequently needed but often neglected, and relationships are about taking with very little giving. This energy is “negative” because things struggle to survive and end up competing for the available resources instead of thriving by working symbiotically. It is destructive energy.
